Get your PADI scuba certification. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba course and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.

What You Learn

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge Development (online, home study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving.
  • Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills.
  • Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!

Option 1: Open Water Referral

You complete the classroom and pool sessions at home with your local dive shop before your vacation. When you get to the island, we complete your 4 Open Water certification dives over 2 days in warm, crystal clear Bahamian waters.

On day 1, you will complete dives 1 & 2 in the morning. This is done from our boat at a shallow reef location, so that you have the time needed to get comfortable and accomplish the standards for the first 2 dives.

On day 2, you will complete open water dives 3 & 4 from our boat. Once all the skills you have learned in the pool are completed, you will be certified.

Our Open Water Referral is $375.00 and includes: instruction, 4 awesome dives, tanks, weights and certification processing. You will be certified over 2 days.

Option 2: e-Learning Open Water Certification

These days, certification couldn’t be easier! First sign up for the Open Water Diver Course online at PADI.com, be sure to affiliate with DiveTime Abaco as your dive shop, this will automatically affiliate you to a DiveTime Instructor. You can finish all the classroom work online through PADI’s virtual classroom. After each module, you complete your knowledge reviews, a short quiz and an exam at the end.
When you arrive on island, you complete the confined water skill practice sessions with us, we do this on day 1.

On the morning of day 2, we complete open water dives 1 & 2 from the boat.

On the morning of day 3 we complete open water dives 3 & 4 and then you are certified.

You will be certified over 3 days!
